A tough day in lovely autumn conditions, unfortunately the fish didn't agree. One barbel of about six pounds and one small chub of about a pound and a half and that's it. Two serious bites between us and two fish, a lovely day though, both caught on pellet.

Conditions seemed perfect but the fishing was tough, 1 fish banked all day which was an eel and unfortunately 1 fish lost suspect it was a barbel :(

Lovely drive through the Wye valley, showing its autumnal colours.
Arrived at the river with a light mist still on the water.
Sun came up over the trees, and stayed for the day.
Trotted maggot was the method of choice.
Could not find a single grayling.
Trout throughout the beat. Stopped counting after 30+.

River was still high but was clear so a hard day’s fishing for barbel. At least we had some action from some chub on pellets. Beautiful weather for the time of year.
