River rather low and very quiet. No fly and only a couple of rises observed in five hours of fishing. Just one 8” trout caught.

Lovely stretch of river, but too early in the year. No sign of trout. One olive spotted, looking lost. Astonishingly beautiful meadow, though

Enjoyable day river in excellent condition.
No salmon.

Lovely fresh fish took on an Allys shrimp. Fantastic battle on fly gear and she went back strong. Measured at approximately 21lb.

1 Salmon

Low, cold (8.1C), clear water and a bright cloudless sky. Bit of a waste of time from a fishing point of view but nice to get out on the river on a lovely spring day.

With bright sunshine and (slightly) warmer temperatures I thought things might get a bit easier. Wrong. Very little insect activity, the Summer hotspots seemingly empty and a cold gusty breeze all made it tricky. I did manage to scratch out four smallish trout by the end of the day, all on a single small nymph. A+ for effort.

Sunny day and a bit of colour in the water. Lost a good fish in the vanstone on a willie Gunn.

Tried numph dryfly combination after seeing the odd LDO hatching and a couple of fish rise but nothing until 1.15ish when the March Browns appeared and the fish started rising caught a couple of nice 16 and 18 inch browns and then it was all over. not so many flies and the fish went back to sleep.
