Could only fish on the upper section, could not find any accessible swims on the lower section

Enjoyable day. Good temperature and mainly cloudy.
Not fished this stretch before and liked the location and easy access to the fishery. River had a bit of colour and a good flow.
Fished with running ledger and used pva mesh attached to hair rig with red pellet. 2 good barbel. Largest tipped the scales at 8 1/2lb and the other just over 7lbs. Lost a couple too. Fished the top end all morning and went home early in the afternoon. Banks are a bit slippery so take care.

More than happy to return to this venue.

Other was Dace so a five species day . Always interesting fishing with maggots as you don’t know what you’re going to catch. Tried other baits to no avail so stuck with maggots fished through a black cap feeder.

Didn't fish. Access to swims a bit too tricky for me. Time catching up with my old bones!

clear water, bright day fished beat 2 and the long walk down to beat 4...hard work. not the best stretch when waters up - "leaves on the line" meant the feeeder was never in for too long so i guess easier to spook the fish.. and there's not a heap of swims to rotate through. Still a lovely quiet day on the river

River settled down since recent floods but still running fast. 6 Grayling caught during 4 hours fishing all on the lower beat. All fish caught tight line nymphing. 2 lovely sized fish. KM

Beautiful day and a nice way to start my stay. Sadly no fish caught but a good few plucks and pulls from smaller fish. Will return in the spring.
