River too heavily coloured from run off after heavy rain two days previously and the river was up three foot on normal. We probably should have asked for a wash out but we decided to fish in the hope conditions would improve during the day which, unfortunately they didn't. We fished in the few slacks we could find, trying a variety of baits but we had no bites. After five hours and with the river, if anything, getting even dirtier, we decided to call it a day.

The river was in very good condition and a day fishing for cub was enjoyed, 15 in total, all taken on legered bread from any likely looking spot all along the beat. A very enjoyable days fishing on a peaceful part of the Wye

Couldn't have wished for more on an early November session. Mild, no wind, overcast all day, a decent flow and a bit of colour. WHERE were the fish?!! Found it hard to locate them, four bite's and three Barbel. Tough day. Still, I suppose we are just not meant to know all the answers. That's fishing.

Lovely bit of river, with good access, we used groundbait feeders with pellet/maggot with groundbait pluged ends, we caught 5 barbel & 2 chub during the main part of the day, using pellet on the hook, 5 more barbel caught early evening as it started to get dark, testing conditions due to weed drifting downstream causing frequent recasting.
All fish were mint condition and went back well/strongly.
We look forward to revisiting the venue.

In promising conditions (overcast) we caught from top field, woods and bottom fields all on meat. Chub were caught in the woods, best action was when it was getting dark, good day.

We arrived at the river at 11.30 it is a very nice stretch we did investigate the wooded area and it is a challenge to get down to the river through there.
The river is very low and clear at the moment so we settled for the deeper water some 2-3 hundred yards upstream of the house and fishing hut. There are several comfortable swims there. The first fish was caught within 45 minutes - a Barbel of about 7lbs caught on a boilie.
Then it was a long wait untill it was getting dark before another bite and a nice 2lb Chub was landed caught on luncheon meat. Then the bites started which only resulted in one lost fish and several missed bites!
It is a lovely part or the Wye especially now the leaves are in colour. We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel at Bredwardine which has some 3 miles of fishing too.
Thank you WUF.

Started 10 AM first chub after 3 hours, both barbel came at dusk. This beat has produced numerous barbel through out the day previously, however the recent cold nights may have impacted on the feeding habits. River level just exposing the rapids up stream, good flow but lots of debris and weed catching the line. Excellent day all the same.

Fished all day by the hut in first field but could not get a bite on pellet or meat using feeder... Trotted a float in the afternoon for a couple small Chublets and a 7/8 inches rainbow. Saw 1 Barbel come out to another angler in top field... with no Barbel or decent chub that's my second blank on the Wye this year.. frustrating.... very alarming to see the residents from the house by the hut all afternoon disposing of all their huge cut down tree branches into the river... the rapids down stream where catching all the branches and that lot will play havoc with fishing down stream when they are carried along in higher water..

2nd time on this beat and the river was even lower than in Sept, CH fished the woods for 2 chub, BT fished the croy in the 1st field and had lots of roach, I fished middle of the 1st field and lost 2 barbel. Still a very enjoyable day though.

Having arrived at the beat to find near perfect conditions expectations that this would be "The" day were high. With 12 Barbel landed one would think that was indeed the case,
however, with 11 of them and the Chub falling to one rod it was a tough day for the other two!! That said still a joy to be on the river, and well done Big Nige. Best fish
8lb. 12oz.
