I arrived in thick cloud and squally showers but was cheered by the glimpse of a hen harrier hunting low over the moors. The rain came and went. The wind did not and continued to be a challenge but at least it provided a healthy ripple. The fish were obliging and I lost or rose as many as were netted. All were feisty, dark tanned half pounders. What fly you may ask....Just stick with the Model T Ford. Offer them anything so long as it's black. I stopped fishing after four hours or so to give the fish some respite.

River slightly coloured after recent rain. Fished all day with NZ dropper. 8 small grayling caught and released all about 20cms. 2 sizable grayling, I guess around a kilo each. All fish safely returned to the water. A very pleasant day with good weather in beautiful surroundings.

Very poor fishing .going to find somewhere else to fish 5 visits to lloyn on .no fish i tried everything. Loads of power bait scattered on banks .can't catch fish the proper way .nobody checking baits .?

A lovely few hours on the Rectory and although still low, it was nice to see a bit of fresher water coming down the Wye after last week's rain. Concentrating mainly on the Rock Pool, I had a couple of trout just over the 1lb mark, a dace and a 3lb chub, which took some getting in through the fast water. All fish came to size 12 tungsten nymph, even the dace.
