It turns out that obsessively looking at the river level gauges will not make a flood disappear. Was a chocolate torrent and I couldn't fish. Hoping for a wash off please.

River was high after recent rain 2m at Ross and rising. Even so it fished well, fish caught throughout the day all on pellet.
Its a great venue with fantastic access and plenty of swims to go at. Thanks to Courtfield Estate and WUF.

Conditions were tricky on a very high river but managed one at 9lb 8oz and lost two in the fast flow. Fished in the woods in a comfortable swim. The hill was also a lot better to drive on.

great day out on a rising 1.5m river dirty brown
Fished the close margins half way up the top of the beat with pellet and then meat first two bites resulted in unstoppable huge runs from heavy fish into the middle of the fast flow hook eventually pulled both times ( snagged fish??)

most fish came btween 1pm and 3 pm on rolled meat in the margins this day was " payback " for a rock hard day a couple of weeks ago biggest fish was over 31 inches

great day and it was safe fishing thanks to the work of stefan providing cut out outs in the bank for fishing

Think again if you intend to fish here. Unless you like a long walk uphill some of the way then the only options are upstream and on the day we could only find 2 swims which were both too dangerous in the high water conditions. We were not prepared to take the risk and so went elsewhere but of course no refund or transfer of costs from the Wye and Usk
