not a bite all day and then just before i was hoping for something.....local farmer in the field upstream decided to cut down hunks of tree which he felled into the river.. these bushes and branches then drifted into my swim which made further fishing impossible

River in perfect condition (0.7 on the Ross gauge with a bit of colour) and a very mild bright day to go with it. Feeder and pellet was the successful method, except for the chub which fell to meat. Most of the barbel were around the 4lb to 6lb mark, but the last cast of the day produced a fish of 7lb-14. An exceptional session for the time of year.

Not a touch all day; Was dry, bright & cold...too cold I think. Need a little rain & a bit of colour in the water maybe as it was crystal clear today.Kind of knew it would be hard but can't think of a better way to spend a day off.
Many thanks WUF & river owner .

River low and clear and very hard frost - no surprise at the lack of action

Tough day to fish - coldest October day for ten years apparently - frost on the ground when we arrived with stunning clear skies and fresh northerly wind. A few small chub, dace, minnows on maggot and one chub around 2lb on pellet
