Lure fishing for salmon. 4 x brown trout caught, nice condition, size between half and one pound, all returned. Conditions good, water level low due to no rain fall that week.

Started at 5pm. Still hot and with a blazing sun. Fished the fast water above Dolmeudwy while waiting for some shadow to stretch across the pool. A cunning plan almost came to fruition when a grilse laid hold in a channel between two boulders, before falling off at my feet. No action in the main pool, Orchard or Orchard stream.

Ideal height, overcast, rain. 2wbt - one over 2lbs.
T J hooked a good fish in Langoed Pool, bored deep for a few minutes then, sadly, came off. A good day.

Lots of grayling caught on maggots, no chub or dace. Signs on gates would be a help.

This was a day's fishing as part of the RT Autumn Conference. I caught 1 grayling (1.25lb), 1 brown trout (1lb) and 1 salmon parr (3cm!) on silver invicta or other colour variants. All fish released. Water was coloured and nil rises seen. I saw 1 otter at upper beat access point. This was a stunning day, so many thanks to the Foundation for its generosity and hard work in running the passport scheme and conservation projects.

A lovely warm day with the river at a good height and with slight colour. The fishing though was very slow. Even the dace were elusive and I only saw one fish rise all day. Just one bite all day despite trying all the likely spots - this resulted in an out of season brownie about a pound.

Arrived to find a dog otter working the river upstream. The river valley looked stunning in its full autumn glory. Had a very enjoyable day trotting the stream. Caught loads and loads of dace, a couple of brownies and a couple of medium sized chub. The only problem, I didn't catch a single grayling that were supposed to be my target species.

After spending the morning fishing the Llynfi Dulas, I had a break for a few hours during the heat of the day and popped in to the booking office to pick up some more vouchers. The advice and helpfulness of the WUF team was excellent again and following this I spent a few hours in the evening fishing at Llanstephan.

There were lots of rising fish and while I missed more than I hooked, I was very pleased with the three browns I caught on a klinkhammer, which were all 1lb to 1.5lb.
