Fished afternoon only, about half way down the beat.
The river was flowing quite strong and flow seemed to increase as the day went on.
Started with a 4oz feeder but ended up having to use a 7oz feeder to hold in the flow after crossing foy bridge from hole in the wall side.
That combined with a change to a shorter hooklink and a bigger hook resulted in a small chub of around 1 1/2lb. Did have a few other knocks and enquiries but nothing came of them.
I was using a 2. 25 test curve rod, 12lb mainline to a 10lb floro hooklink which was about 2ft long. Caught the fish on a spicy sausage dumbell after trying krill boilies for the first 2 hours without a sniff.
Still unsure if you can actually fish both sides of the beat. It clearly says you can on the map and could see a few places opposite that looked fishable from the bank that could be accessed by walking down the fields on lh side of bank (looking downstream from the bridge), but remember reading you would have to wade to across to access that bank.
Perhaps someone could clarify this for me. Thanks.
Lovely place to fish. Would highly recommend others have a go.

Fishing Passport Note : Some double bank fisheries will only have agreed access on one side of the river.

Despite decent looking conditions with a rising river and warm temps it was an extremely tough day. Lost one fish to a snag early on and after that just a few bites that didn’t materialise and another lost fish. We both tried a variety of baits, Pellet, Maggot, Meat and paste wrapped Boilees but they didn’t fancy it.

Water temp still low? Either way still a lovely day to be on the river.

Should be advertised as single bank fishing, even with levels at summer low there’s no way of crossing the river to fish the left bank. Small section of river, not for the adventurer.

Fishing Passport Note : It is always worth mentioning a double bank fishery. Anglers will fish in the knowledge no-one will be fishing opposite.

Lovely stretch of river but after the recent floods and fall in temperature I was happy to manage a couple of fish.

Incredibly mild temperatures, stayed dry for whole session too. River up slightly (60cms)but not racing through. Nice colour, just fining down. Snagged twice on two first casts and lost hook lengths, but then found clear patch. Very strong bites, not wraparounds, but not far off. 3 good Chub, all in the space of 90 minutes (either side of noon). Biggest was a good 6lb fish, with the other 2 around 5lb. Fin perfect. All fell to ledgered pellet, 3oz just about holding bottom. Large splashes on 3 occasions. May have been pike, but Salmon more likely. Startled otter on trudge back.
Great way to end the year. Thank you.

An absolutely stunning stretch of river in a frozen landscape today. Christmas Card fishing and hugely enjoyable, but there was little good will from the fish. One serious wrap around which went nowhere, a few baits taken but nothing whatsoever hooked. Meat, cheese, bread, oiled pellets, casters. Nothing worked. Freezing for first two hours, and final hour of the day. Would imagine river temps were colder?
Lovely to meet and chat with land owner. Interesting and friendly gent.
Look forward to meeting up with him again, when skates and ice saws aren't required.

River rose during the day making anything other than feeder/lead impossible. 1 barbel early followed by a few chub during the day with a final barbel just before packing up. This was the first time we've fished the 'creel' beat and we will definitely go back.
