4 Barbel, 2 Chub

Great afternoon fishing on this lovely stretch at The Creel on the Wye. Weather was good, 14c with sunny spells albeit with the odd shower. 6 chub with 5 between 3 to 5 lb and 2 barbel. Also, lost a barbel and 2 Chub. Mostly to pellet.

2 Barbel, 6 Chub

River in good order, not too many leaves coming down. Plenty of action from chub all day. Nothing on pellets, but using feeder and a bunch of maggots they were on it as soon as the bait hit the water. Caught a few fish trotting maggots too.
Hook pulled out of a very big fish (typical), but no other sign of barbel. A change of swim may have located one or two.

1 Trout, 15 Chub

Difficult first things but improved in the afternoon as fish started to feed. Barbel caught last light.

3 Barbel, 116 Chub

Weather very mild, river down to 0.75, good flow, a slight tinge of colour still in the water, hopes high for mid November.
First time on this lovely beat set below an idyllic village sandwiched in a big Wye ox bow.
Started in front of the church which produced one 3lb chub and a 2 lb barbel in the first 2 hours. I moved down to the 3rd meadow first and had 3 nice chub and a beautiful 9.04 barbel all on meat. S.M. then followed and had 4 chub to 4Lb again on meat but no more barbel. Disappointed not to have a few late fish at dusk but all in all a great day despite locking my keys in my car at the end and having to wait nearly 2 hours for breakdown. 4 chub up to about 4lb and a barbel about 6lb. Enjoyable day.

River level up but steady with a tinge of colour. Bites came throughout the day and all fish caught on meat. Barbel around 7lb with the best Chub 4.5lb

1 Barbel, 16 Chub

River was falling, and still losing colour, under a largely overcast sky, with temperatures rising from 3 deg C at 8am

Tried four swims, and whilst the chub were feeding, no sign of barbel.

All fish caught on meat on near side.

I really do wonder what will become of the Wye unless these poultry farms fully commit to reducing the pollutants from their operations. Hopefully Avara Foods and that fertiliser company will live up to their promises
