The fish were caught from mid morning onwards. Best barbel was 9.06. It was windy with a mix of sun and cloud and was quite warm. Very enjoyable day.

A day of two sessions. Fished 3.5hrs early morning, and 5hrs in the afternoon. Caught 8 chub during the morning (losing 1 barbel that broke me), and 3 barbel during the afternoon session (no signs of chub?). Overall, a great days fishing.

Caught on 10mm pellets / 15mm boilies, behind a 2oz hemp and ground bait feeder. River at 0.37m high at the Ross-on-Wye station; weather warm, dry, but without much of a wind (without a ripple on the water for most of the day).

Tight lines all.

Had a great day on this fantastic part of the river, warm, sunny weather meant that the fish did not properly feed until late afternoon but once they started the bites came regularly, most Barbel around 5-7 lbs, with a couple of better fish up to 8 lbs 8 oz,plenty of nice Chub around 4 lbs. A great day for watching wildlife with Kingfishers,Buzzards,Woodpeckers,Sparrow Hawk and a Red kite.

Arrived at around 5pm after the drive down from Yorkshire. 2 of us settled into the middle of the beat while one other moved around (we had added another rod onto this beat via phone). The fishing was a little tough going with one rod picking up a few fish from 2 different pegs - one mad half hour produced 3 fish. The other 2 stayed put and were rewarded with a nice 6lb barbel. The other fish was a pike around 7-8lb which took a liking to halibut pellet!

Good river conditions. All fish caught on boillie or pellet. Full range of swims fished. Most fish caught late on. A beautiful stretch.
