Just popped for a few hours in the midday and managed to winkle out a beautiful 7 1/2 lbs barbel. River looks ideal and weather was overcast. Nice beat.

Managed to fish one down stream peg all be it with two ropes one to a tree half way down and one to a screw bank stick.( very slippy.)Had an enjoyable day once down on the flat. River rose six inches while fishing. Finished with two barbel best 7.5lb and 15 chub up to 4..5 lb.

Great days fishing, considering difficult conditions very slippery banks, dog spike essential in the wet.

Great afternoon fishing several swims lost 2 barbel into same snag - every fish in that swim made for it just had to hang on and hope several times. Biggest fish may well be a double but dont weigh any fish. Smallest maybe 4lb. Nice 4-5lb chub to finish. All barbel on krill pellet o.

Favourable conditions and river looking in fine fettle, good flow. Fish taken on feeder and float using a wide selection of baits, meat, boilies, various pellets and bread. We were looking forward to a productive evening session when a late afternoon down pour rendered the banks rather treacherous so decided to call it quits at 18:30. Enjoyable beat but be aware the parking for the top section is in very close proximity to a continuous bonfire and subject to heavy agricultural machinery.

There's not loads of swims here but enough to offer a bit of choice. After thoroughly examining both halves of the beat we succumbed to the slightly lazy option of fishing the two swims in the top half of the section next to where the cars are parked.
The benefits of being out in the fresh air were slightly defeated when a chap turned up with a tipper truck and proceeded add the remains of a bed and mattress to the smouldering rubbish pile behind us. These took an hour or so to properly ignite and burn through but fortunately it was a breezy day and the smoke was generally blown away rather than towards us.
The fishing was fairly steady with one rod catching all of the Barbel whilst the other chose to spend the afternoon on the lower section of the beat where plenty of good sized Chub were caught.
