Fished 11am to 2pm. More prolonged hatches of LDOs and March browns than my last Usk visit 2 weeks ago brought fish to the surface. 4 good trout landed on dry MB patterns - 13", 17" 19.5" and the biggest at 20" which was weighed in the net at 3lb 2oz. All the fish were in superb condition for this time of year.

4 Trout

River was low ish for the time of year fished for 4 hours from 10.30 had a bit of a hatch of March Browns about midday but the fish didn’t really respond odd risers here and there . Lovely condition fish to March Brown spiders & Brecon Cob

5 Trout

First time fishing Usk for over 55 years. Both fish to a dry March Brown in a 40 mins hatch at 12.30pm. Esspecially pleased as on my own creation.

2 Trout

Several bites, but nothing landed on legered worm or spinner. Remains of campfires, piles of litter and broken beer bottles on both banks.

Quite low for this beat, but found a good march brown hatch and one or two fish rising.

1 Trout

A much cooler day. One very brief hatch with no takers.

Fly fishing nothing caught.

Another lovely day, though quiet in terms of surface action. The only hatch occurred between 11.30-12.15, and accounted for half the fish caught. No fly thereafter. The rest were caught prospecting with a duo. Successful flies were March Brown Jinglers and emergers, Pinkhamers and Duracell nymph.

Nil return. Water very low and very clear. Beautiful beat though.
