Good hatch of March browns around lunchtime causing significant interest. Rose several fish on dry March Brown pattern but only got one to the net. Other fish on Copper John and shrimp pattern. All fair-sized fish in good condition and returned safely.

A fabulous day due to a good hatch of March Brown around midday. A two pounder closely followed by a three pounder - both in very good condition. After about 2pm the fish want into hiding - didn't see another one all afternoon.

River at a perfect height and running gin-clear. Bright and sunny (14C) with a cold breeze from the east, which got stronger as the day went on. Teased a couple of small BT from the shallows at the top of the beat on PTN. Around mid-day a sporadic hatch of March Brown began, lasting about half an hour. Took one from the tail of the lower pool on a dry MB and missed three other takes. As the cold wind picked up, the action stopped. Called it a day around 15:00 hrs

Warmer than of late and sunny, but with a cold east wind. A quite intensive hatch of large dark olives and a few March browns around midday. 4 x trout on various spiders. Plus a large one lost because the incompetent guide left the net back in the field!

Weather overcast with drizzle the afternoon, river was fast flowing and care was needed wading. Fished on spiders all day. Mid afternoon river came alive for maybe 10 minutes then switch off ,a few missed opportunities best caught 3/4 lbs enjoyable day.

It felt colder than the previous day with a biting downstream wind. The water was clear but higher than you would ideally like, making wading a bit tricky. We had a bit of sport to spiders at first and a trickle hatch of LDOs started with nothing taking them. At about 3pm a few March Browns started to show, nothing taking them at first but then a few splashy rises in one or two places and we managed a few on dries. Best fish was about 1.25lbs.

First day of the season! 8C max temp. Hard to tell when the mist ended and the drizzle began. No wind. River a little high and fast but running clear. A couple of hours speculating with a PTN but action started around 13:00 and lasted for an hour. Olives and tiny white beasties (not sure correct name) hatching in the slower water of Llanoberry Pool. Fish rising all over the place! Three to the net on size 18 Grey Duster; dropped a few more and missed several takes. Need a couple more trips to get my eye in. All fish in excellent condition for so early in the season.
