A bit tough today. Not much hatching and few fish showing.

2 Trout

River clear and showing no signs of recent rain. Fished klink and dink and a team of spiders with small beaded nymph. Although there were small fish rising I got no interest on the klink and dink but had a few bites on the spiders/nymph and finally managed one trout on the nymph.

1 Trout

A couple of fish over 2lbs, three around the pound mark and the rest half pounders. All but 2 on dry. Great day.

22 Trout

Lovely stretch of water. Some fly life seen but not a lot of encouragement from the weather. This meant that we were mostly restricted to the faster water using nymphs. I can imagine that both this beat and Dinas would be marvellous during a heavy hatch of fly. Nothing spectacular when it came to size of fish but fair amount of sport during the day.

20 Trout

Largest Trout 1.5 lb. Sporadic hatches of March Browns and Large Dark Olives through the day. All fish caught on dry March Browns (2) or Thorax Adams (2). All fish returned.

4 Trout

Very little moving. Crossed the river at the bottom of the beat to fish the lower pools but nothing to be seen. A couple of fish to the dry and nymph. Tough day!

Very low and clear, bright sunshine. 2 fish on a nymph, 1 on a dry in the morning. No hatches, saw just a few small olives coming off and a few splashy rises. From lunchtime swimming and bbqing at the bottom 3 pools meant fishing was curtailed.

Dry fly and small nymph. Strong East wind very hard.
