Fished the runs with a nymph, no touches. Take a wading stick, couldn’t cover the main runs and gutters as wading was tricky.

River very low and clear and lost a few of the old swims area needs some vegetation cleared for anglers limited swim space

1 Barbel, 6 Chub

7 Dace caught throughout the day and the chub at the end. All on beat 2. Unfortunately we walked down to beat 2 only to have to turn back as the "access via the pump house" was over grown and delapidated (I'd suggest it get taken off the map as access). Managed to get to the beat via toll bridge. Chub was probably 4lb. The wye is a fantastic river and was a great time for a 30th birthday. We'll definitely be returning to the river.

A superb autumn day with clear water and normal flow. All the action took place at the heads of the pools using a Quill V Fly with a ping tag, around midday.

9 Grayling

Very slow morning probably due to temperature dropping sharply overnight,was down at 3 degrees when we left Ross.
No bites at all untill around 2 pm when fish decided to start feeding.Some nice hard fighting Barbel mostly around 5-7 lbs.Another great day in the Wye valley.

3C on the car temperature gauge en route, but a pleasant enough day. River running low and clear, but still pushing through. Bottom incredibly slippery - so much so that, even with studded soles, I narrowly avoided meeting the fish on their own terms on a couple of occasions. A couple of Grayling on nymphs from the fast water at the top of the first meadow in the morning, nothing from the Gutter, but a run of Grayling from the top of the beat on a Klinkhammer during a brief rise in the afternoon
