Fished all the deeper water from the Spring Pool to the lower limit with 11” on the gauge. Unsurprisingly, no salmon seen. I also had a few hours nymphing for Grayling but some of the spots which are usually bankers for a few fish were not very productive today. Fish were shoaled up elsewhere but had to persevere to find a few. Nice days fishing and not too many leaves to snag the fly at the moment.

10 degrees but with a nip in the air. 0.27 at Ross and clear, but with a decent pace and a 12.6 degree water temp. All 3 of us started down the bottom for a fruitless 3 hours between 4 swims. Moved up in the afternoon and two of us managed a barbel each around 1500, 5lb and 6.05lb, one on 10mm halibut, other on 14mm Robin Red Packed at 1630

River in beautiful condition however from a fishing perspective things were not good. We visited the river from all four allocated parking spots and soon found out that access into the river was not easy. For example styles were broken and dangerous and many path were overgrown with brambles and impassable, one angler punctured his waders (not good news) we caught nothing and saw nothing. Where have all the fish gone?
