After a night of heavy rain, the river was high and tinged but still worth a few casts. Sinking line and a tungsten beaded salmon nymph didn't get snagged until it sank in the slacker water, so it was hard work. No fish seen but one decent brownie took the fly and at least put a bend in the rod. My plan was to fish Lady Alexanders Catch and down the end of the beat and then move to Goodrich Court for the afternoon. When I crossed the river at Ross the water looked like Brown Windsor soup and that was the end of the day's fishing. Yet another season ends without a salmon touched.

Swim looked great, amazing to see how nicely they have put the small rope fence done to the swim, very handy, sadly with all this cold water not a tap all day, still lovely place all the same
