A lovely damp day with rain of biblical proportions at times. The river was rising but not too much in the way of debris coming down and a nice chocolate colour. Normal feeder methods were used with halibut pellet being the preferred bait. The barbel varied from 9 1/2 pounds down to 5 pounds

3 Rainbows taken on Iron Blue, Daddy longlegs and a cruncher all from the far side of the lake. All quickly returned. Its difficult to clamber around the lake, some very boggy/marshy areas - typical upland lake!

Massive lift in water levels overnight left the river in turbulent full flood.

This was the day rains came! Arrived in steady rain which made setting up difficult. Got the brolly up and all settled in. Then ‘Pow’ the steady rain became ‘stair rods’ for the next three hours. As things eased in mid afternoon we started catching, the 5 barbel caught were all of good weight with heaviest at 9lb 4oz.
PS the next day the river had risen over 3 metres.

5 Barbel, 3 Chub
