Weather hot and the river lower than |I have ever seen it. Sporadic dry fly activity so chanced my luck in the riffles and deeper areas but with no trout brought to hand.

Weather overcast with a cool downstream wind, which made for difficult dry fly presentation. Sporadic hatches of olives and yellow mayfly but only a few fish rising. I caught 2 trout on a size 18 cdc olive pattern, one of which was a nice fish, probably just under a pound. I didnt fish the evening however.

Challenging during the day - hot and bright. A couple of 6 inchers caught in the riffles. I had high hopes for the evening, following the previous evening at Fenni Fach but by 10 pm there was a curious lack of a rise and the hatch was thin compared to 24 hours previously. One 9 incher caught. A nice, but short, beat.

I didn’t arrive until late afternoon but the hot sunny weather and low river conditions made the fishing difficult. A few small fish rising in the evening to olive and mayfly spinners but no major rise despite a fair bit of fly life. A caught one small trout and rose a few more on a size 18 cdc grey olive pattern.
