River very low water good hatch around lunch time. 4 fish within half hour on small black gnat, the other two taken on blue winged olive. All fish released in water.
Abercynrig is a pleasant stretch of water with good access and easy wading.

Some numbers for you: 1st time on this beat. 0.302 Brecon gauge. 5 WBT 12" was the best - lovely fish. All on the top on a White Wluff 100% returned.
...that's the end of the good news....
1 chap camping - in base of the trees, in field upstream of the bridge - a bit unnerving until I engaged with him, was a nice chap, he did not appear to be poaching.
2 Kayakers - apologised very nicely but were told the facts that they shouldn't be on the water and where to find access info.
All the gear and had no idea. 6 kids mucking about in the pool I wanted to fish. 3 dogs crashing through the water,
100% were owners oblivious. 1 fairly fed up angler - note to self....don't bother fishing in the summer holidays.

Lovely day and conditions were good - river at reasonable level and running clear. Trout rising in places but not particularly easy to catch on dry fly. Managed to get 5 WBT on black and silver nymph and olive CDC. All fish returned.

A mild day with moderate showers of increasing duration. 10 wild brown caught, all released. 9 taken on a #18 gold bead head/quill body. Fished New Zealand dropper style from an olive Klinkhammer. One taken on this fly. Several fish missed through out the day on both flies. Some surface activity evident sporadically.
A wonderful day with plenty of kingfisher sightings! A beautiful beat, thank you WUF.
