A good sized clean looking fish lost from the orchard nothing else seen apart from a few trout and a couple of otters. Beautiful morning to be on the river.

The sunniest day in the history of sunny days. I have successfully tanned a semi-permanent t-Shirt onto myself; but that would be today's only triumph! Water looking absolutely lovely for the coming days.. today was 1'11 on Llanstephan gauge and falling, with a medium tinge, running through pretty warm at 12 degrees. Spring about ready to burst into full swing on the Upper Wye.

Three rods fishing fly and spinner. River high and wading a challenge due to the fast flow. Caught the tail-end of a March Brown hatch in the morning, which yielded one trout. Two more trout in the afternoon on a SHFC, with a salmon also briefly attaching itself before letting go.

Perfect fishing day sun with high cloud, river good height 2'1" and falling, good clarity but on the cold side 44 degrees. Expectations high but no Salmon caught or seen, some descent March Brown and Olive hatches and the surprise catch of a relatively silver 1 1/2 lb sea trout on the fly at the end of an enjoyable days fishing. Fishing the Chapel catch gutter was slightly tricky at this height as my brother and myself both have descent studded boots but at times were being slid along the bedrocks by the strength of current so caution needed in higher flows I'd say!

Fished top half for a few hours after work, river 2ft and clear. Nothing doing in Dolmeudw or Orchard. Whilst fishing end of Orchard a big fish showed on the Llanstephen side down by the croy. Fell in trying to get a few extra yards of wading in order cover it with a fly!
