A difficult day with water running high. Very few fish rising and hardly a hatch all day. Various takes missed by all and unable to pinpoint what exactly was the right fly. A beautiful beat that looks like it would fish its head off under the right conditions. Three WBT were caught and returned. A big thank you to the foundation.

River high but falling and reasonably clear. Difficult fishing with fly because of trees etc and the depth of water meant that fishing from the riverbed, along the river wasn't possible except for a few locations. Caught 3 trout 8-16oz on Stonefly nymph, all returned.

An excellent and diverse stretch of river. Arrived at around 09:00, as the rain started to get heavier. Started at the top of the beat, and by the time I reached the middle stretch the water had risen significantly, and turned the colour of coffee. Driving rain and strong wind persisted, making wading a little dodgy. Decided to call it a day around midday having caught nothing. Better luck next time.

Despite good conditions fishing was not easy - a couple of trout caught during the day both on a PT nymph. Both fish just under a pound.

Excellent day where we caught 13 WBT and missed at least as many. While others have been unhappy concerning the wooded stretch of the river, it was underneath these trees that we caught most of the fish. Fish to 1lb 4oz and several around the 1lb mark. Only took the largest fish; the rest were released. Most caught on gold head PTN fishing New Zealand style under the trees.

We caught 7 trouts mainly with small yellow dry flies. The activity period has been very short may be due to the extremely wet wheather...

Great river and good day fishing. Fished dry flies all day with no success. Would come back and try again though!

Brown trout: 1 near 2 pounds, 1 near 1 pound, 5 smaller fish. All returned.

Very hot day, mostly no surface activity, only few good sized fish caught. Total for the 3 rods about 30 fishes.

4 x Brown Trout between 1.0lb and 1.75lb caught on olive emerger.
