Didn't arrive till 2pm. By 2.30 had a nice 15 inch trout in the net. Caught on downstream beaded wet. Fished on till seven sadly nothing more. It's a lovely beat but wading is tough a staff is essential I think.

A rare blank day! Cold day with strong downstream wind. Just the odd olive and no fish rising all day. tried deep nymph but no luck. maybe a few weeks need to go by or the weather to get just a bit warmer. Water good and clear with good flow.

Absolute waste of time. Nature seems to be a few weeks behind this year. No hatch, no fish sighted and river still VERY cold. Will be leaving it for 3 weeks or so now.

Tough day, did find a few fish taking iron blue duns!

River conditions were really good, water reasonably clear with a few fish taking off the surface. Caught a small brownie on a nymph.

First time here for me - I usually crawl around tiny streams. River high, fast and dark causing difficult access and wading from this bank. Weather poor. But big bright heavy nymph paid off and took some good fish from 1 to 1.5lbs - dropped a couple of big beasts too prob because I bullied them too much in the fast water and couldn't chase. A couple of smaller fish were unexpectedly seen rising through the murk and took a pale watery. Very pretty and fit fish. Satisfaction rating high! Oh yes - one small fish from a feeder stream.

Great little beat. All caught on nymph. River crystal clear and fish in good condition. First Usk trout. Will be back.

Perfect weather and water running clear with a good height. 2 WBT taken to a pound and a half, long nymphing and one to half a pound on a klinkhammer. All in good fettle and full of fight. All taken in fast riffly water. Saw one kingfisher and unfortunately one cormorant heading up river! Beautiful day on a stunning beat.

Thought the river would be higher after a night of decent rain but that's not how it turned out. Incredibly hard fishing with only one fish lured out of a crevice with a heavy nymph.

Great to be back again.....splendid beat, low water, almost clear, a few fish seen, none landed and still a pleasure to be in such a beautiful place....thank you :-)
