The swims in the first field were ok but further downstream access to the river is poor. The opposite side is a non starter

Water levels and colour were very good, only fished the woods area, the others were all eels, they were a problem all day, any meat baits they were on it. I would say to fish most swims you need a 3m landing net pole, very difficult to land and release fish from most swims.

Not a huge amount of swims to choose from between the 2 of us. River looked good, nice colour, maybe flowing a tad fast. Not many bites, but no blank. I think the sudden change in over night temperature effected the fishing. Other was eel.

Nice to be out in the September sunshine, and I can only offer that, and the very low water levels for a blank day. My first visit here this year, there are a lot of big fallen trees in and across the brook. But then, it’s a wild stream.
