Both very small. Beat was a little disappointing due to low water but beautiful scenery.

Really windy day made for tough fishing, no fish caught or even seen but always nice to be on the river.

Glorious, weather, glorious river condition, glorious fly hatches of yellow mayfly, big sedges even a spinner fall around 6pm and not a fish moved all day. Nothing caught on extensive nymphing...weird!!!

Gusts of wind and slightly coloured water made things tricky, but I was determined to cover as much surface of this lovely beat as possible with dry flies. Caught two small but beautiful brown trout on the lower part. Twice during the afternoon, during lulls in the wind, the river almost started boiling with hatching flies. Not much surface feeding activity to go with it though. I retreated happy to the Hay festival and cocktails at Groucho Club :)

Water good but very few fish seen. 2 tiny trout caught and returned.

We were looking for a day of dry fly fishing - from 12 - 3 o'clock there was plenty of fly life and the fish duly obliged - it took us a while to work out they were taking emerging flies and once we changed to fish a CDC emerger - 4 fish came in quick succession. And then it was over, the fly life disappeared and for 2 hours we looked longingly at the river with barely a rise before packing up and heading home.

A very cold and windy day, so difficult to cast successfully! We saw no fish, but enjoyed the scenery. A local dog walker told us that there is a brood of nine Goosander chicks upstream from the stone bridge at the first access point to the river....

Cold, strong downstream wind. Considerable fly life, but not too much surface activity from fish. 6 small WBT on dries and nymphs. Very nice beat. My friend have seen a 3rd person fishing on our bank- we were not aware that anybody else booked the beat for that day.
