A truly magical stretch of river which, for natural beauty is hard to beat. We fished it and the beat on the other side so had plenty of river to explore which was hard work and I can't remember being so tired after a day's fishing. This beat on it's own is more than enough to keep 2 anglers happy with a variety of water. Deep pools, long flats and many fast water swims which all look like there should be fish there. The fishing was difficult however, with only 3 trout caught, the biggest about a pound, all returned. It was very bright all day which probably didn't help but the evening bought a few fish up to the surface. I don't doubt there are some good fish here, but it's not easy fishing, wading is testing and the bank are steep in places. But you feel blessed just being there, and any fish are a bonus!

I'm mainly a small stream fisherman and these big Welsh rivers are bit baffling, frankly. I've fished the Teifi a few times whilst on holiday and had a (very) few, always on a nymph.
Firstly there's the wading. It's either slabbed pavements, with unnerving, sudden drop-offs into deep channels or slippery boulders to clamber over. Secondly, there's the water. You undoubtedly get a lot of it but an awful lot seems to be shallow runs over bare rocks, devoid of fish.
I was fishing the lower section on a bright, sunny, warm day so I don't suppose that helped. Plenty of insects about but no fish seen and no rise forms either. I fished various dry flies but I really didn't know whether I was wasting my time or not. Generally, if you don't know, you usually are so I gave up after an hour or so. I suspect you need to be trundling heavy nymphs along the bottom of those channels to catch anything.
Very picturesque river but I think you need a local guide to get the best out of it. No takes, no fish seen.

Enjoyable days fishing in a very nice location. Unfortunately due to my lack of experience failed again to catch anything. Lots of activity above the water almost all day but didn't see a fish rise till 16:45 and planned to finish at 17:00. Will definitely return to this beat.

I took a chance with the weather and was reminded what the weather man means when he says "the jet stream has dropped"! Hooked and lost two fish before the down stream blustry wind, driving rain and rising coloured water forced me to leave. First time on this beat which has lots of varied water and will be back for sure on a more settled day.

Fished with czech nymph downstream. Water was rather low. A couple of fish seen jumping but nothing caught.

The river was pretty low and crystal clear, along with bright sun making tricky conditions. Clearly plenty of fish in the beat when seen rising. Lots of Mayfly about, although fish only rose extensively for about an hour (very tricky to tempt and super spooky too) and the river seemed to go 'dead' toward the evening (it got very cool). Two trout lost right at the net! A great day had never the less. This beat is vast and very pretty. It contains a great variety of water in both open and wooded areas with good access all the way along.

Beautiful river but struggled to tempt a take. Plenty of LDO hatching and a few rising fish but all seemed fairly small and uninterested in anything in my fly box (perhaps it was the angler).

No fish caught. Day started wet but settled with intermittent sun and a breeze. Used a nymph to start with but changed to dry later in the day. Saw a couple of good sized rises in the run just below woods but they weren't taking. Tried grey Adams olive, and gold heads and wet pheasant tail. Still had a lovely day on a beautiful river however!
