The heat has gone so happily I'm back on the lovely Ty Newydd beat. River at 0.93m on the Erwood gauge, falling and clearing. I fished for about 3 hours. A good sized grayling and a small trout, both on a size 18 beaded PTN. Both returned.

Fished the ciliau run, perfect water level. Arrived 7:30 so a 4 hours fishing before the sun got on the river. No surface activity, fished with beaded hairs ear 3ft under Klink. 2 pound chub?, a salmon par and, one trout 3 grayling all under a pound
Returned in the evening, perfect conditions for a rise but nothing doing

I fished from 2-6 PM and 8-10 PM.
The river was fairly low.
I was fly fishing on a 7ft rod using waders for river access.
The first trout was caught around 3 PM and weighed around 2.5 lbs, this fish was taken.
The secound trout was caught around 5:30 PM and weighed around 1 lb, this fish was returned.

Windy conditions making presentation a challange. Largest trout around 12 inches. All fish on beaded nymph. Saw the otter early doors having a swim in the lower section. Green slime on stones as reported in other stretches of the Wye.
