Excellent fishing here in this beat we had not experienced before.
Wading quite challenging, much edge case tottering and alien muscle invocation. We all got partially wet at times.

Always very scenic and always hard to fish especially in howling winds, however managed a 1 pound grayling and a 1/2 pound trout. Big salmon leapt about two feet away from me whilst wading.

River running clear. Weather dry part cloud. 2 rods.
Mainly nymph being used, one nice trout to caddis nymph plus a number of missed takes which made it an enjoyable day. Tenkara method used with 12ft and 13ft rods. Access good but take care approaching gate to fishery, with a blind summit nearby it is safer to approach from Erwood with the entrance on the left.

Fished with JE from Kingston. Last beat of a 4 day trip. Whilst JE took a good bag over the weekend, I found the going tough all weekend. Rescued by a couple of nice sized Grayling at TyN. I have to say that the position of the entrance to parking could have been better thought through. Traffic comes over the brow of that hill very fast indeed. Only a matter of time.

A beautiful day on a pristine beat with lots of varied water. We were glad to be making the most of what seems to be an extended summer. We barely saw a rise all day but by prospecting in the faster water managed to catch all the fish off the top on a Jonathan Barnes soft hackle dry. Somehow this fly seems to rise fish when they aren’t even taking naturals. A firm favourite. All fish came from the faster shallower water and all the trout were from the very fast water. We missed many many more and also lost a better trout. Nothing huge came to the net but once again we had a fantastic day. Thank you Wye and Usk.

Managed to get a grayling to hand but it came off before I'd taken it out of the water. Nothing on the salmon rod

Two Grayling (both approx 10 inches) taken on a tungsten bead GRHE. I had a few other tugs, all near the bottom at the end of runs.
No serious rain for a long time so the river was low and clear.
I used a 7foot, 3# rod with a nymph and a spider.
2 Grayling
