Tough days fishing with bright and windy conditions. We fished from the lower limit and had a little walk about before we spotted a couple of fish rising. One fish of 10 inches was landed after a few different dry flies were put over him. The other fish rising were reluctant to come up to much of what we put over them. Later on a slightly bigger fish of 13 inches was caught on a tiny size 18 cdc. Plenty of fish missed and a very good fish lost in some fast water that also took a cdc. Lovely setting but maybe a good idea to fish during the week to avoid dog walkers and labs in the river!

Water low and clear weather overcast odd showers temp about 10 degrees 6 brown approx 8/9 ins long all caught on hares ear fly all returned. All caught in same pool perhaps stockies other fish seen rising but only small in other parts of beat

Weather was foul; this was the first time I have cauight a trout in a hailstorm! But the small ones were feeding at least, on nymphs, and kept me cheerful.

There was quite a bit of rubbish on the bottom including an old car battery. That said it was a great afternoon.

An excellent days fishing with Oliver Birch who taught me some new methods to add to my expanding catalogue of methods. All fish caught on spiders using the dropper method.

Good stretch of the river, especially island bend. Water clear after rain, very brief hatch for 10 minutes or less, mostly sunny day, light wind.

One small 1.5lb put back, wet nymph fly. River brisk and fresh weather a bit chilly.

Blanked. A lot of sediment still in water from rain.

7 x trout 8-15 inches, Hare's Lug and Plover, Dark Moor Game and Deer Hair Emerger. Another raw spring day, strong cold wind, high water and no sign of the sun all through. Spiders were working to some extent though and just one fish on an emerger at about 3 o'clock when a short-lived hatch of dark olives provoked just a couple of rises. This was the only surface activity seen on the day.

River slightly coloured and weather traditional bank holiday howling winds and rain. Nothing rising but managed a few up to 16in on nymphs.
