First blank day out of 12 but lovely morning. Two anglers using illegal fishing. Phoned the help line advertised here and response was very positive. Bailiff here within hour and had a word with one who was leaving area. Bailiff (didn't catch name sorry), phoned me back and was very helpful. Impressed.

2 small wild trout on spiders.

Upstream dry fly. All caught on elk hair caddis size 16 hook (red gold rib body). Great days fishing!!

Had 3 fish nothing over a pound about midday on an olive goldhead, weighted with 2 small split shots, not much activity on the surface, first time fishing this beat and struggled a bit, not used to such a big river, on way back down the river for home I came across a group of men fishing a ledger with maggot and spinning, no bailiff around.

Caught 3, nothing over a pound. Lovely day fishing. Fish caught on weighted olive nymph, quite a few porchers there using worm and spinning, I talked to them and they mentioned they don't see a bailiff up there.

A very pleasant day, warm and sunny. Some fish rising which could be caught with an accurate cast, some fish came blind.
Dries worked well especially CDC mayfly patterns and hares ear Adams.
A busy place to fish, with public access to the riverbank but a good experience with some nice water. The only downside was anglers who were obviously poaching and those who were spinning.

Overall, quite a difficult day - worked hard for the fish I had - all taken on the dry. Managed to winkle out a nice 3/4 pounder from just 8" of water, which was the fish of the day. Lovely stretch of river.

I note the comments from R.H. From Ledbury re illegal fishing on this stretch. I phoned about this last year where one family fishing worm stationary on same beat most evening, cans of beer lobbed in made it ever more picturesque.
