Conditions water low and warm. Weather windy and cloudy with sunny spells. 9 chub. 13 chub let’s. Caught on pellet/corn/meat. Trotting from the creels great fun on a stunning stretch of well maintained banks.
Feeder and meat with ground bait (small amounts) successful for the bigger chub up to 4lb.
Fish tired after being caught so we held them in the current for a while before they swam away. Important with oxygen levels being low.
Thouroughly enjoyable day.

Access out of the fishery requires a mirror on the opposite side to see oncoming traffic. Can’t see over or through the hedge and it’s dangerous.
Only negative otherwise a very well kept fishery. Superb first class venue.
Water condition low and warm ( low oxygen levels)
Wildlife in abundance/ well done land owner!
9 chub caught to 4lb.
Tactics float trotting and feeder / ledger meat.

Huge fly hatch when we arrived on the water. We started off in Pylon for a couple of hours for 1 chub on the feeder. Started roving up stream where both caught chub on float and feeder.
The main action, including a lost Barbel that got me behind a boulder, came in the faster water.
Beautiful stretch of water, we will be back.

Not the best day i'm afraid... having fished this beat early in the season on a few occasions, i have fairly good idea of what it should be like when times are good (having caught really well in the past). For reasons unknown, the fish just weren't playing ball on this visit, the level was a little higher than on previous visits but even so.. .I started in the pylon run where i'd usually expect to have several bites... nothing. Then moved up to the first croy, a 3lb-ish chub on the second cast there seemed to herald a brighter future but it wasn't to be. Called it a day at lunchtime. Usually on this beat, i'm tearing my hair out trying to avoid the chub to get through to the barbel. I'd expect activity of some sort - plucks and taps on the tip from less committed fish - on virtually every cast. I can honestly say with the exception of the fish i caught, there was nothing. I did trot a float through from the first croy and the largest croy, all to no avail. That's fishing sometimes. I will be back to put this right later in the season. Thanks as always to Glynn, interesting chats on all things fishy and especially his friendly pointer Conker who brought me some good luck for the one bite i had!
