Nice day. River low but with some colour. Never really found big shoals of fish but caught steadily near to Luggsmouth itself.

Just to confirm reports of other anglers on the beat (see 3 July feedback). We fished on 30th June and had the same experience - 2 salmon anglers turned up to fish. Nice guys and had a good chat etc. One said he would try for some barbel as the salmon prospects were no good - he didn't and they both subsequently left. It wasn't a big deal but it could have been if they had fished where we wanted to. If the owner wants to let others fish, then that's his right but it should be clearly stated and the price amended accordingly.

River appeared low and clear. Very bright conditions. Only fished for 2 hours. I suspect evening up to dusk would have proved more interesting. This was more of a fact finding mission with my wife and threat of thunderstorm together with the access around the field caused me to abandon fishing.

Very bright and scorching hot day, not much movement. Wife caught first ever barbel, 6lb 7oz. Peace and quiet spoilt by a tractor running a pump on opposite bank all day. Having said its still nice to be by the river.

Began fishing at 9am. 3 chub caught by 11am so moved 20 yards along the bank & immediately caught barbel. Warm sunny day but with some cloud and much cooler than last week. River was very clear but looked good. Fished until 9pm and eventually caught 13 barbel & 8 chub. All nice fish. Nice to see lots of salmon showing in the river.

What a marvelous days fishing. Getting baked in the sun and catching steady throughout the whole day. All fish falling to pellet feeder tactics, we both caught 2 barbel each between 6-7lb, a load of chub to 5lb and CB had a nice surprise catching a stunning common carp of 9.5lb. And even when the fishing did go quiet for 2 hours it was just a joy sitting by the river watching the salmon jumping out of the water as a kingfisher flies past. Tight Lines.

We had a lovely day on a very nice water. Conditions looked perfect. River not high and carrying a little bit of colour. Between us we had 4 barbel up to 7lb 12 oz and 15 chub ranging from very small to a biggest of 3.5lbs. All fish were taken on pellet feeder tactics.
There are a lot of chub on this stretch. Best times were early morning and late evening, especially for the chub.
