River level still low and clear, lots of loose weed from up stream. Fished from 6am till 8:30pm, same swim, same tactics, same baits. Had 3 barbel weighing 4lb 8oz, 2-3lb and 6lb. 3 chub weighing 3lb, 3lb 8oz, 2-3lb and lost 1 fish. Illegal fishing at lugs mouth again on both sides of the river. Gateway to field is dangerous! Do not try to drive on track around field if wet, deep tracks fill up but ok when dry. I drove a Renault scenic with no problem. All in all a beautiful beat and excellent fishing.

River level low and clear with good pace. Fished from 8am till 9pm, had 9 barbel weighing 6lb 4oz, 5lb 2oz , 4lb 2oz, 6lb 2oz, 7lb 8oz, 5lb 6oz, 2-3lb, 5lb 8oz, 6lb 8oz and 5 chub weighing 4lb 8oz, 4lb , 4lb 8oz, 3lb 5oz, 4lb 3oz. Lost 4 fish due to fishing close to weed and sunken snags. All caught on cage feeder setup with halibut marine pellet or pepperarmi. Some illegal fishing at lugs mouth on bend but John the gillie had a word and they left. Several canoeists all well behaved. All in all a beautiful beat and excellent fishing.

Sunny day with patchy high cloud, river at good height following rain earlier in the week but with colour hiding the streamer weed. Chub caught on sweetcorn, switched to pellet and had a barbel at the end. Didnt fish all day. Great to meet Tony the ghillie, a lovely man with lots of useful info.

Sudden rains over previous day or so had considerably swollen river level - very muddy and fast - fished from bank. Both bottom and float but just a couple of bites and no catches all day.

Fishing was excellent plenty of Chub and Barbel to 5 and 6 pounds, Big problem with the track only suitable for 4 x 4 vehicles even in dry conditions and a very long walk.

good days fishing plenty of Cub and barbel to 5lbs, also a couple of eels, using feeder method with meat as bait on a hair rig, only downside to this venue is the track around the field, do not attempt driving around the edge of the field unless you have a 4 x 4.

Quite a difficult day, but we were rewarded for our patience later in the day. Started well with a barbel & chub first cast in both of our swims. Second fish followed shortly afterwards and then both our swims went quiet. Followed the same pattern throughout the day and only seemed to be able to induce bites when we changed baits - even from large to small pellets. Started to catch more consistently in the early evening. Barbel from 4lb to 9.5lb and chub up to 4.5lb. Not a touch on meat, with all fish caught on pellets either glued to the hair or bait banded. Pellets from 8ml to 15ml and a combination of micro-pellets or groundbait in the feeders. 1.5lb test curve Shimano Beastmaster rod, with 12lb mainline, 18lb braid hooklink and a size 10 hook. The river was VERY low (the lowest I have ever seen here) but there was a reasonable flow even above the pylon pool. Canoeists were fine but the peace and quiet was disturbed by the 6 who turned up with their tents on the adjacent HDAA stretch and started fishing in the mouth of the Lugg. Although they were no real problem they were more interested in the swimming, beer and barbeque and I would suggest keeping an eye on where they are fishing. This is probably for me the most pretty beat on the Wye & Usk and I will definitely be back soon.

We struggled on this very hot day. Tried pool after pool but the fish - if they were there - wouldn't switch on. With the field now in arable the track is now rougher than I remember it - vehicles need higher clearance to avoid grounding. Hereford AA anglers (catching eels?) now fishing right up to Luggsmouth - so not quite the peace and quiet we used to enjoy at the bottom of the beat.
