Arrived at 9am river up 2-3 foot & coloured which was a welcome sight. Had a wander around & finally decided to fish at bottom of beat. Fished for a couple of hours without a bite due to flow & the amount of weed coming down, I was re casting every few minutes. Eventually gave up & decided to move further upstream, finally settling in just below Old Boat Pool.
1st cast produced fish within 5 minutes & the action then continued all day till I packed up at 5pm.
11 barbel to 9lb 40z plus 1 chub, I also lost 2 fish in the weed, both felt decent. All fish caught on pellet, not really bothered too much by chub, weed was a slight problem though.
River was dropping off through the day & losing some colour.
A few canoes came down, all extremely courteous.
To finish, what can I say, a marvellous day on a beautiful river, salmon crashing around me all day, outstanding scenery, peace & quiet, perfect!
Many thanks Wye & Usk & last but not least heartfelt thanks to Colin for his invaluable advice & local knowledge.

2nd day on the beat, the water had come up about 3 feet and racing through, also a lot of weed which has been a problem the last few days, rain and very windy made a difficult days fishing and we gave up early with 2 barbel and 3 chub.

First day of a 3 day visit to the Wye, Neil and I caught 40 barbel to 8lb 2oz & 17 chub, with most of the fish being caught from the last few pegs, all on pellet. WE have fished the beat before and caught all along the beat but with the river very low and clear the fish seem to have shoaled up as we only had 4 of the barbel and 6 chub away from the last pegs, once we found the fish we had a wonderful days fishing, & once again many thanks to W.U.F for their excellent service.

Back on the Wye and Usk beats for second trip of the season.
Fished with my son today and had a very enjoyable day in warm sunshine. The river was low and clear and fish were more difficult to temp during the day than on my previous trip but the fish were feeding hard for the last hour before dusk and we finished with 30 Barbel and 21 Chub between us.
This was my fourth day of the season so far and my tally is now 110 Barbel 53 Chub. What a fantastic river the Wye is, thank you W&U for making it possible.
