River high and running very fast. Struggled to hold the bottom with 5oz lead variety of baits tried.
Beautiful river and surroundings just picked the wrong day.

Brian Woolley had a nice 9.5 lb silver hen fish ???? on a black SHFC from a croy near the hut. It gave a good fight and recovered well and swam off strong. Fish was caught about 6.15 pm.

1' on the gauge. Too much competition from the village - dogs, balls, rocks and stone skimming over the best fly water (Poulston from the pebbly beach) - might it be an idea to put up a sign asking them not to 'disturb' the pool when there are salmon fishermen about ?
The Links Run below fished nicely but was probably also disturbed by the canoists, who were mainly courteous and helpful when asked to keep to the near bank. However most seemed oblivious to other river 'users' including Wildlife, some even playing loud music - what about the Canoe Letting Company, as a condition of their Licence, briefing canoists on how to behave when in the countryside and sharing access with others ?

Good spring day on this famous beat which offers a variety of water and the chance of a springer. No salmon seen but a beautiful 2lb + Brownie rounded off an enjoyable day.

Sunny cloudless day, 14C / 57F air temp and 7C / 45F water temp. Water green cloudy, about 3ft visibility, dropping about 0.1m per day after 4.1m flood over the banks ten days ago. Water at 0.89m on Ross EA Gauge, and 3’3” on beat Gauge. A good push of water flowing through and still too high for fly fishing in our opinion. We persevered, but neither saw nor touched any fish. We understand that this beat fishes best at below 2’9” on the Beat gauge, ie around 0.74m on the Ross EA gauge.

River very low and clear. Banks muddy and slippery. Not a touch all day which is a first for me on this lovely fishery. Good to be out there though.
