A very hot day, plenty of fly life on the water but little activity. Saw a couple of nice browns cruising but nothing else. First time we have fished this beat and I must say the access to the water was very challenging and banks were overgrown and full fields of crops did not help. Some nice pools but difficult to fish and too deep in places for waders.

Very quiet, no sign of a fish the whole time I was there. Bursting with insect life, Kingfishers and flowering plants, surprised not to see a trout rise. Deeper than I expected in places, very pretty beat.

This is a very tranquil setting, worth the trip just for the peace and quiet and the wildlife, including a kingfisher and a heron. Despite a regular trickle of hatching insects there was very little sign of fish moving and nothing caught.

An enjoyable beat to fish. I had no takes and therefore no fish either but this is likely my inexperience at river fishing. I tried numerous winged flies and nymphs but without success.
In the up stream slow river areas there were good fishing taking on the surface.
It is slightly difficult to access the river but there are enough entry points and I walked a fair way once into the water. I would fish this beat again

Absolutely stunning river. As mentioned below can be a bit tricky to access, and water is high in places, chest waders are a must. Be prepared to be scrambling up the bank multiple times to get round high water.
Starting fishing around 1200 on a warm, dry day. River was low and clear. No fish rising for first few hours, despite Mayfly hatches and an abundance of insect life. Missed two bites on a black Klinkhammer and CDC in some of the fast water.
Around 1500 started to see fish rising half way up the beat. This continued for another 3+ hours. Caught 1X7inch Grayling on Rusty Klinkhammer (missed another 5). 3XWBT, best being 13 inch. All caught on Klinkhammer variations.
Great days fishing on a stunning piece of river.

Water temperature uncharacteristically high due to record temperatures. Very few rising fish. River access can be a challenge. A beautiful valley though, Dipper, Kingfisher, Tawny Owl all there.

Very tough river to access - solely due to geography. Weather made it extremely hard. Never caught chub before - on emerger. Trout were rising at top of beat and came to BWO 16.

Fished from 2.30 to 7.45pm. Almost no sign of any fish at all. Only saw two small rises. Water seemed a bit murky. I did see two kingfishers and a robin
