Absolutely stunning fishery- great looking river in amazing scenery. I must say though the amount of treefall in the water detracts massively from the experience. My estimation is 30/40% is totally unfishable. It almost seems like its deliberate the amount of trees blocking the water above the recording studio. This beat could be so much better with more effort put into it. My opinion is its not worth the money as things stand. This beat could be amazing but it needs a lot of attention.
(WUF note we hope to get to this over the winter)

First time on this beat using Czech nymphs and new setup - upstream, short casting, nylon rig only. No catch on this occasion, but will be returning soon.
P.S avoid wading in the area in front of the recording studio - took an unexpected plunge!

A picturesque stretch, no fish encountered and access is tricky as stated, a local told me the beat is great in mayfly season.

Caught two trout with dry flies despite the water being quite coloured. Access was not too easy and wading was not always possible due to the high level of the water.

We fished from late afternoon without success. Only one run just upstream from the studios showing any sign of life. I hooked a significant fish on a sedge around 7.30 but lost said fish as it ran into roots of one of the several trees that have fallen into the river. Rest of river completely quiet with no sign of any fish. Having read previous reports we were impressed with access arrangements.

very little activity on this river on this day, nothing rising, nothing interested in wet fly approaches, or it could well be my competition - a pair of otters seen at many of the pools I was fishing!

Its been a while since we have done some jungle bashing in the valley now so thought its about high time !
Seems theres a bit more jungle these days but as always a bit of wandering around finds ways through and its always worth it. Theres some super runs and pools here that you can spend hours on and certainly make up for the canalised sections. The wading is generally good and easy.
The river was low and carrying a touch of colour as is the norm these days it seems but fish where moving in the tails of the pools. Couldn't see what to, but no fly showing so presumably terrestrials. Black klinkhammers and elk hairs got their interest, no problem. The trout went from 6" to 12" and the bigger ones where in superb condition/colours etc . Just fabulous!
There where some big fish moving on top here and there but out of range today. Next time maybe...
There where the makings of a possible good evening rise (a reasonable amount of mayfly still about too) but never happened. No matter, there where still two very happy fishers, its a lovely peaceful place to be.
