River very high, lost a barbel at about 3.30. Then just as it was getting dark caught two. The first one about 5lb. The second was a pb of 7lb 15oz. Used feeder with halibut pellet. Most enjoyable day, even if the weather was cold and windy.

All looked good with the river falling with a bit of colour after the spate, and a cloudy mild day. Started with feeder and pellet, but no result after an hour or two and switched to meat. Hooked and lost two chub in the same tree roots. Bullied the next two away from the bank and landed them. Chub bites ceased in late afternoon so I returned to pellet and feeder. On the last cast of the day I had my only barbel bite and was into a good fish. Mindful of my experience with the chub I foolishly put too much pressure on to keep it away from the bank and the hooklink snapped. Not the day I had anticipated at the beginning!

Another beautiful still Autumn day but river low and clear. Top end swims produced only a couple of Barbel early on and then nothing for the rest of the day. One of our party walked down to the bottom and had 3 barbel and 4 chub in the pm.

Arrived to a ground frost this was followed by unbroken sunshine all day, a lovley day to be out on the riverbank however the fish didn't seam to have the same appreciation for the conditions, river was low & clear. One Barbel & Chub caught during the afternoon & a supper condition 8lb Barbel put in an appearance last cast just as the last of the daylight faded. Always a pleasure to be on the Wye

Fantastic day on a beautiful stretch, We caught 10 Barbel and 12 chub between 3 of us.
All fish came on pellets.
Biggest Barbel was 9lb 1oz, all cub were averaging 21/2 to 3lb. We also caught lots of Dace on the stick float with maggots, there are loads of Dace in the Wye at present which is a great sign for the future, some are the herring type but most are a couple of ounces. In a couple of seasons they should be a decent size.

10 Barbel, 12 Chub
