The welcome rain and level rise said it was a Wye day and with only one beat left with tickets Courtfirld it was. With only 3 swims we I to the wood it did t take long to pick swims. Lovely mild day, 14.9 water temp and a 0.85 river level with nice colour promised a lot. I blanked despite trying lots, PJ had a 7lber but Steve had a great day, only 3 barbel but one was a significant PB of 11.02. Other two were 7 and a banner. Pewt or meat on a gb feeder.

Only expected to fish for a few hours from first light,
but ended up fishing all the catches a number of times before finishing at 4.30pm before the big lift arrived. It was 1’10 to 2’2 most of the day. Visibility around 3ft and very promising but no tourists seen. Trout were very active today though with most taking assorted small salmon tubes last minute on the retrieve.
