The river was fining down after sporadic heavy rain in the previous few days. Intermittent heavy showers and sunshine for us. There was a slight tinge in the water. We saw a good number of flies - olives of different sizes, yellow mays, caddies, even mayflies! But, we saw no rises and caught no trout.

Caught 5 common carp, all very similar in appearance , ranging in size from just below 10lb to just under 15lb. All caught on chunks of pepperami, or half pepperami half wafter, with small ova mesh bag attached.
