Two trout both to nymph. Nothing rising. A cold gusty westerly hindered fly life ... and casting.
As an FYI, access to the river below the road bridge is challenging after the strong winter flow has further eroded the right bank leaving a steep and fragile edge. Upstream the access is better but sadly the winter storms have not scoured away the organic matter that covers the river bed and floats around the edges.

A fab guiding day, with Mr.Wilson, from London ....He fished the Wild streams last season, and was so smitten,he booked again !!! He's up again for two days in September....
Today on the Ithon I guided him between 11 bells and half four ....Great dry fly sport, he "zoned" in quickly and I gotta be honest, these little trout are fast... But, he managed to bring to the net eight crackers !!!
There was plenty of olive Uprights, large brook duns and medium olives to keep the fish entertained ...And obviously us as well, with some superb dry fly sport.... Fish were the usual stamp for here...Six to eleven inches...Fun, fun, fun ...Always a buzz, when a client gets in that dry fly zone and it becomes a constant wet net !!! Happy days, just doesn't get any better than that ....
The Ithon is now getting low.... Two good days rain would be absolute tonic at the mo !!! In fact, most of the streams need a good topping up now !!!
The kingfisher was busy here, as were the Martins.... But, so nice for Andrew, to see the Red kites and the Ravens ... A cracking day for all...
Back up in the Elan Valley in a few days ! Time for a well earned pint down @ The Lamb and Flag now .... cheers folks !!!!

Enjoyed the walk in and the Llyn looked lovely. Sadly, I was not a match for the persistent light rain and strong northerly gusting wind. Managed to fish the deeper water on the sheltered north side for an hour with no sign of fish or insect life - everything was safely hunkered down, and I joined them soon!

Access to the river is very difficult. Ropes needed, but not present. Floods have eroded the banks. Very few fish rising - perhaps 4 all morning. River seemed in very poor condition with pinkish sludge over the bottom. Two of us fished all morning without a take.

A great day on this lovely beat. I missed as many as I caught. Pleasing to catch a couple on duo and the rest on dries.
