River in perfect condition and mild conditions continuing. More swims to choose from now with a tinge of colour in the water. Great day in still, dark and misty mild weather. Thanks W and U for leaving this quite wild.

Took advantage of a little bit of extra water coming through for a day on one of my favourite beats. Could not manage a bite all day but the barbel switched on at dusk for some last minute frantic action. Five barbel best at 8lbs on pellet.

A very foggy day in the Wye Valley. A few salmon crashing and abundant bird life. Only half a dozen canoes all day. Fish came to ledgered boilies.

Heavy rain ceased as we arrived at 9am and weather conditions were encouraging being warm and overcast. The river was seriously low and my fellow angler commented it seemed almost dead. Dave lost a barbel at 11am on pellet and feeder which made us think they were on the feed. We were wrong - no more action till 4pm when I landed a barbel of around 6 pounds on light legered meat. We fished till dark with no further fish. A lovely beat and thanks to Dave for introducing me to it.

A tricky outing to the Wye (as expected) due to mainly sunny skies & the continuing low & clear water. The usual range of baits & techniques were tried throughout the day. Doing nothing significantly different, our perseverance was eventually rewarded in the last few hours, with the sky now more overcast & the light levels dropping We caught our target species on static baits from areas of deeper water. They were all between 6 - 8lbs & in excellent condition. Challenging & enjoyable as always

2 Chub of about 3lbs, 2 Barbel of 5lbs and 1 Barbel of 8lbs. All caught on feeder using two Halibut pellets on a long hair rig.
The river was crystal clear and low, all fish were caught towards the end of the day as the light was changing.
Lots of loose streamer weed made fishing difficult but not impossible with a little effort. This particular beat is quite long with lots to explore towards the bottom end of the run. Would recommend using some waders and fishing the channels between the weed on the faster sections.
A fantastic weekend and will be back ASAP.
