Started about 7.00am in Top Pool, 1 decent barbel lost as this is a real tackle graveyard. Dropped down a peg or two and had a few small chub and dace on the stickfloat and one chub of 5lb before the shear number of inconsiderate canoeists made fishing impossible at about 10.30. Started again about 4.00pm had 5 good barbel between 6 and 8lb and two chub of 4.5 and 5.5lb. Great beat in lovely surroundings with good access to the river. I will return.

This is a beautiful place to fish. Got there early in the morning, weather was hot. Scouted out a nice swim. Easy access to all the swims, well kept place, river was clean and good to fish. After about an hour my mate had the first barbel on the bank, a very nice 9lbs in mint condition taken on pellet. Soon after I was into a 6lber and the day just got better. In total we had 15 fish, great fights from them. Could not ask for more. The directions on the map were spot on. Will be back for more, great place and a big thanks to the WUF for this fabulous beat, one of my best days on the bank and my friends too. Highly Recommended !!! See you soon.

A very slow day with only four chub and one small barbel between us and we both fished hard all day ringing all the changes. Some of the swims could do with a little maintenance/strimming as the vegetation is overgrowing the steps and making access difficult and in a couple of swims quite hazardous.

River up a few inches with a tinge of colour. We fished for barbel in the morning and at last knockings, caught 8 between us to just under 10lbs. All fish in perfect condition and each put up a very satsifying scrap. Trotting bread flake in the afternoon, wearing waders, we had 6 chub to hand which on light tackle fought nearly as well as the barbel! Great days fishing.

First time at Middle Hill Court, and a very enjoyable afternoon in beautiful surroundings it was! Fished from 3.30 til 9.30pm, starting at the very top of the beat, and began catching straight away with all falling to paste-wrapped pellet (for once the mighty meat did not do the business as predicted by G.S)...had the place to ourselves, so working our way down slowly, ended the day with 8 barbel to 8 1/2lbs, (avg 5-6lbs) with several lost along the way on barbless hooks - including one crafty chub who did a great job of outwitting a certain chub expert ;) had such a good time i don't think we even made it half way down the beat, canoe traffic was next to none, bailiff Adam very friendly and helpful, and highlight of the day was seeing a huge salmon clear the water right in front of us in the Vanstone pool - looked to be a hefty double. Great fun was had by all! Thanks WUF.

A slow day on a river that had a tinge of colour and some pace. In total 4 Barbel, 2 Chub and 2 Eels all taken from the top 2 pegs. All the barbel came before 12 o clock on pellets and the Chub and eels came a little later on meat. No more bites from 1pm till when I left at 3pm. Directions were fine and parking was close to the river - all the pegs are well presented and relatively easy to access. I hope to return again.

Back again full of hope but no dream start like the previous day but two fish early on then very quiet so decided to go roving. Good decision - finished the day with 8 Barbel - biggest 6lb 14ozs average size around 6lb and 4 Chub biggest 4lb 8oz which if it hadn't been spawned out would probably have topped 5lb. Brilliant fishing in a lovely lovely place. Thanks WUF for all the work you do.

This year's annual jaunt to the Wye proved to be the best yet. On arrival the river looked great, a bit of colour, no debris floating down the river, the floods must have got rid of a lot of the weed and the bankside was the most accessible in the time I have been coming here. The latter appears to be the reult of some hard work by the WUF. The day started brilliantly with 4 fish in my first 5 casts including a hat trick then it died as the canoeists appeared. Around 4 I had another hat trick and picked up a couple of fish later. My best day on the Wye to date. In total 3 Barbel 5,6 and 6.5 lbs and 5 Chub to 3lb - all very lean so I guess they had been spawning.

Short session today due to the blistering heat, so I only fished for 3 hours from 9 til 12. Had 1 barbel of 5 1/2 lbs and lost another which nearly dragged my rod into the river.
