During the previous and the river was back rising. Great to be back at our favourite stretch of the Wye. We met Stefan early doors (he must get up early as we got to the water at the crack of dawn. Always great to meet him and he always lets you know what swims are worth some time.
We fished the top end and caught throughout

Lovely stretch, scenery is amazing. Some swims are steep, but ropes were in place to assist, which they certainly did, and other swims more easily accessible. Overall, a great venue. 4 fished.

Best day for 10. years on middle court. Maybe the autumn fishing has kicked off with the rain over the weeked. Perfect conditions saw a 10lb barbel early doors folloed by 7 other good sized fish All fit and raring to go ! Stephan reckoned its the first double of the year for the beat. It had a nother hook saw it knew its stuff and took a while to subdue! All carefully suoervised by my fishing buddy a local swan who sat alongside me all day also a peregrine falcon and the local kingfisher family

Didnt even get to wet

large Pellet and krill feeder mix worked well

Only 2 Anglers fished a rising River. Meat and Pellets were the key with a groundbait feeder.

Abandoned the day after only a couple of hours. A torrential downpour made already dangerous banks into potential death traps, far too risky to continue unfortunately. Surely some minor works can be done to create small, relatively flat areas on these steep bank sections? Others have done it in other areas of the river.

Fishing Passport Note : There are strict limits to what can be done lawfully in regards to clearance and access. The Wye and its banks are highly protected under law. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
