River very low at 0.24 despite rain the day before. Colour was good though. 3 anglers fished and fish caught from all along the stretch. It was very slow but a great fishery. The rope on the bottom end of fishery saved me from going in on the slippery banks. Thank you for keeping these in place

Arrived & parked at the top of the beat & walked down most of it before deciding to move the car to the bottom of the beat. We walked the remainder of the section from this point & decided on the first swim opposite the castle ruins which looked a chub & barbel run around 3.5ft deep, steady pace & well oxygenated. First, its worth a mention that the fishery was well sign posted with good parking, paths were good all the way but the top end had some very precarious access, steep & muddy routes down to the swims that looked too dangerous after the recent rain & required proper steps & rails or at least a rope secured at the top to help you down. The swim unfortunately didn't produce the goods for us although my mate did ok with 2 Barbel at 5lb & 6lb & 2 Chub at 3.5 & 2lb. I caught 2 Chub on rolling meat biggest 3lbs & last knockings caught a Barbel around 6lb. Also had 2 small Chub from a swim further upstream on the float.

First time on this beat and we were really impressed by it. There's a lot of well maintained swims to chose from.
We arrived at the same time as the other three anglers who were booked into this beat. They knew exactly which swims they wanted to fish and this left us with the choice of the remainder to select from. We started at the upstream end but despite them looking good for a few fish, we struggled for bites.
Taking the opportunity to have a walk along the whole of the beat we found a couple more swims towards the downstream end which looked good and we could see that there were plenty of Chub present.
Relocating to these swims we had high hopes of a good late afternoon and evening session. The weather though had other ideas and took a turn for the worse and after a couple of hours of sticking it out we decided that a steak and pint was a more attractive option than continuing to get wet.
I'm not sure that we particularly did this fabulous looking venue justice on the day and we will certainly be back in the future.

River seemed to have dropped a little from yesterday, couldn't fish the rapids as already taken so went to the top end of the fishery, used the same methods as yesterday with a bit more success, long periods between bites
