A lovely stretch of river but yet again neither of us had a touch, we used meat and pellets, nothing, i think I'll wait for the summer now.

I thought the fish might have woken up following the freezing nights and been hungry after their flood exertions. However, alas and alack, it was not to be the case. Fished different methods in different swims with just 2 tiny taps to show for it.

We fished at Middle Hill Court today, and it was just too cold we didn't have a touch between us. We will be back soon as the fishery has been much improved by the addition of extra swims. We fished with meat and various pellets all to no avail, ah well it was a lovely ( cold ) day.

Tough conditions, water was very cold. Presumably snow melt had worked its way down from Wales. Very few bites apart from trout that took a liking to luncheon meat.

Just fished an afternoon session, rained all day and river pushing through.Despite that plenty of accesable swims. Had the pleasure of seeing the otter up close and also managed to land four nice chub to 5lbs. All fish caught on feeder and boilie in various swims.

Will be back !

As we'd had 4 mild nights in a row I decided to give the Wye a go. I as greeted with a positively balmy (barmy?) 6 degrees on arrival (rising to 9), dry and with no wind, making the banks of the Wye a very pleasant to be. The Ross gauge level was 1.4 and the water coloured but not dirty, looking good. The problem was always going to be water temperature not knowing how long it would take for the snow water to run through. My fears were realised when I was looking back at a 5.8 degree reading. 2 small chub from the top swim prevented the blank but one hook pull was the only return from 2 swims at the bottom end. I tried groundbait and maggot feeders and a range of hookbaits. Still a day on the Wye.....

Freezing cold conditions, river low and clear. Hardly surprising we struggled. Complete blank for the pike but a few chub came out to play.
