Attractive beat but the river was low and very slow in places. Some fly life of little interest to the fish. The faster water and nymph proved the best chance.

The river was low but the weather conditions were good. Few fish rising leading to the only fish taken coming to a nymph. He was a 12 incher.

Beautiful venue and easy to access. Heavy rain all morning gave way to sunshine after a clearing-up shower. Loads of insect life coming off, including a few mayflies, but didn’t see a rise. Tried wets and nymphs to no avail, but hooked up in the trees several times..

Very quiet day, very few fish seen on surface. Missed a couple of takes but that’s all. More a day for the nymph really.
Enjoyable though.

Nil return. Conditions bright with a cool NW breeze. Very few fish rising. A couple of takes on a dry fly, but nothing detected on nymphs. A lovely stretch of river, but might try again when more flies hatching.

A good days fishing, 5 WBT and 1 decent sized Grayling, all caught nymphing. I did see the odd fish rise to the surface and I had a couple of refusals on a March Brown dry fly (need to be quicker), only a few may flies coming off the water today. River conditions good, a dry day and about 15 degrees. A great beat to fish, easy wading and access, parking close to the river and the pub.
