spun the beat through didn't see or tough anything

2’1 on the gauge this morning. River dropping fast and clearing nicely. Only spent 4 hours on the water today, covering all main pools with heavy tubes. No sign of an early runner though.

2 Trout

walked the beat o look for changes, had a couple of casts, no good

Levels were falling but clarity was still not good.

Hard work in the cold wind but at least I didn’t blank. One of the grayling was a nice c.1lb male

It has been a cold day, around -4C all day, ice at the margins, wading a bit of a trial. Only 1 Grayling between us, caught on the float, not even a bite on the fly, but a lovely day on a very beautiful river.

Only had a couple of hours fishing a new beat so pleased to winkle out 3 ladies

A nice day to end the season after Friday’s deluge. 2’2, a little coloured, and a chilly 9degrees C. I had a bit of Déjà vu today, taking a fish from almost the same spot as 17th Oct last year.

You said to go up and see if one would come out of the Rock Pool Louis, but he took a bit further up in the Island Stream !
35”, maybe 17lb before he started his diet, and took a Red Devil conehead fished on a fast sink tip.
Only netted to unhook, in good condition, and went back strongly.

1 Salmon, 2 Trout

Had a v brief pull after first cast of the day. Nothing then in Gravel Catch, Bridge Pool and Island stream. Enjoyed the last day anyway and, as a rookie, was able to see small improvements in casting the salmon rod. Joe Cobley’s “more power” advice just beginning to bear fruit!
