Didn't fish. Ghillie phoned to say the water looked like "pure mud" and only the stretch above the the confluence with the Morrow was fishable. So as that was not my allotted bit I turned round and went home. However, I see today 3 fish were landed! Presumably on the pools above where the mud was coming from. Never the less I regret didn't give it a go. Even just for the exercise!!

No luck today;A cold wind later in the day but really the conditions were good for fishing but nothing touched.
A big thank you to Joe the ghillie who tried his best for us. I'm sure that if the rod was in his hands he would have fared better. Thanks for the opportunity.

The river was low and dropping after a small rise. Weather was warm and nicely overcast for most of the day. One salmon caught on Colemans on a shrimp pattern. Cock fish around 13lb.

River low but rose 2 inches on the day. First time on the Wye. Scenery was magnificent and the beat well organised. Even with a low flow the fly runs were interesting and abundant. Saw a few fish show but none were tempted . Fishing counterpart hooked a large barbel but wouldn’t lend me his ‘luncheon meat fly!’ Thanks to ghillie Joe for freely imparting his considerable knowledge and being great company on the river. Can’t wait to return in more optimal conditions.

Fish seen and fish were caught by others, however, I fished Fly all day for one pull which I suspect was a trout! It was low water conditions, hot and Sunny. Joe the Ghillie did his best and was helpful.
