Very hot and sunny and the water was very low. Tough going generally, very little rising despite a large mayfly hatch. Fish taken on nymphs.

A tricky beat to wade from the main road side, and a staff is a must! A great days sport, and a nice Shad, a new species for me, to finish the day off. All fish taken on a nymph, not many rises seen through the day.

7 of what we believe to be chub caught with various spinning fish lures. the tail fins looked quite pointed compared to some photos of chub on the web so photo attached. (WUF note: these are Twaite shad)
