Very clear water and fish easily spooked. Plenty of activity but couldn't tempt them with anything.

Was on the evening ticket and all taken on small dries.

Not many rises throughout the day. Lovely beat though. Need some rain to raise the levels.

Initially cloudy then hot and sunny. River was as low as I have seen it. All caught with European nymph rig

Overcast, strong downstream wind and cold for time of year. Wind made dry fly hard (for me). Nymph most of the time but no fish seen, heard or felt. Nice beat and the first time I have blanked on it. Will be back.

Arrived late at 3.40pm. Fished to 8pm. Weather warm and overcast. Sporadic hatches during evening but no steadily rising fish to target with dry fly.
All fish taken on nymphs - the largest 1 3/4 lbs in faster water. Good fun on 3wt rod.

4 Trout

River level up around 4-5" from a couple of weeks ago. Cloudy with sunny intervals but with a strong breeze which swung through 180 degrees over the course of the day. Only the occasional olive coming off, with surface feeding fish limited to small stuff on the flats. WBT taken on PTN on the edge of the fast water above the bridge. Spooked a decent salmon wading across the very shallow water at the tail of the Sewage Pool.

2 Trout

Very low water levels throughout the beat. One bite, otherwise blank. A beautiful stretch of river, though, and I can imagine it would be productive after replenishment of much-needed rainfall.

Very very frustrating day (but enjoyable). Extremely quiet until the showers started and also after trying many flies. Missed 4 and didn't land a further 4 even to the point of net in hand . Pesky fish
