Heavy rain didn't stop play but probably should have. River high. Very little happening.

No rises at all, river had a bit of colour. 1 trout on ptn, one on a spider

6 lovely 1/2-3/4 lb brownies on dries all returned and missed a few more. As I walked back to the car just before dark two otters were fishing in the main bridge pool, beautiful to watch and an awesome end to the day.

All fish taken in fast pocket water with a size 18 gold head pheasant tail.

The river was lower than usual and the weather was very hot. However we managed to catch a few brownies on nymphs

Evening ticket on this short beat. Very low water and only one fish below road bridge. Above was a different story, the later and darker it got, the fishing improved no end. One pool on 2 occasions we were both playing fish at the same time!! Some good fish lying in very shallow water smashing the dries.

Nice easy access, wading also easy but need a few inches of water to make the most of this beat.
